If You Do One Thing This Month... #4

Bake something!

GBBO has been on our screens which means the urge to don my apron and make a mess in our kitchen is stronger than ever, so when Lizzie came to stay at the end of August, we decided to give macarons a shot.

We have a confession... ours were out of a packet from Sainsburys, but they tasted great and have re-ignited my desire to make them from scratch again!

If you bake anything this month, you should totally tweet it to me and I will commend your efforts (I promise to be far kinder than Paul Hollywood).

If You Do One Thing This Month #3

Hit up your local TK or TJ Maxx, depending on where you live!

Above are three goodies that I grabbed last month... It's definitely worth remembering that as TK runs on other brands' old stock (or so I'm told!) there will be beauty products that are a little bit less fresh than you may be used to, but I think this is still a great option to try higher end lines before you buy 'em full price.

Not pictured, but DEFINITELY worth checking out, is their stationery section: my local one has some incredible and beautiful notebooks that are a total bloody steal, so RUN DOWN THERE my friend, go go go!

If You Do One Thing This Month...

...book a facial!

I'll leave the counter choice up to you of course, but having had my first two facials this year,  I think it can be said that I'll be having a good few more. If anything my love for them is an incentive to get out there and get earning post-uni.

At some point I'd love to do a before and after photo and see how much of a difference they actually do make;  but what I will say is that at the time of writing, my skin has never looked better and maybe it is down to my treatments...

Failing that, the lovely feeling of being pampered has me totally hooked.

If you're not booking one for yourself, book one for a friend! I myself would love a facial as a present. Hint hint to any family members reading this post...

If a professional facial isn't in your budget at the mo,  get your pamper on at home!

Now there's an idea for a future blog post...

If you do one thing this month...

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I know, a bit of an out-there statement, right? Last month's Do One Thing was a healthy walk recommendation, but this month I'm telling you, here and now, get thee to Boots and get thee that blummin' sponge.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Does it apply a base flawlessly and evenly? Check.

Is it good value? Check.

Is it a multi-tasker? Check.

Is it endorsed by one of the Pixiwoo sisters? Double check.

Whether it's cream blush, liquid highlighers, concealer, foundation or just about any other cream base product you can think of, this little orange sponge has got you covered. Literally.

To keep it real for a sec, sponges do absorb more product and stain like mad, but given this is £5.99 on Boots's website, I think it is totally worth it for the results it gives and the multi tasking properties it boasts.

I love dampening it so it swells up, wringing it out then using the flat side to apply my foundation and then rolling the sides to blend. It's frankly a lil bit amazing.

If you do one thing this month...

...go for a walk!

So since I got back from France, Momma and I have got into the habit of going for a walk every other day or so which I have been loving.

In France I did on occasion make myself walk a longer way home just to stretch my legs a bit and I wish I had made the effort to get out there more.

Even if it's colder out, wrapping up warm and getting out there really does the mind and body good and I suggest you get out and get some fresh air, especially of you're stuck to your keyboard like I am at the moment!
